On Sunday evening, August 16, Pastor Dane Ortlund will speak at ZF on “The Puritans—Who They Were and Why They Matter for Our Lives Today”. We will enjoy together—and perhaps be surprised at together—who the Puritans really were, as opposed to the common stereotypes. Then we’ll focus in on one particularly interesting Puritan and see how wonderfully strengthening his writings can be for our own actual lives today.

Dane Ortlund serves as senior pastor of Naperville Presbyterian Church in Naperville, Illinois, where he lives with his wife, Stacey, and their five kids. Dane is a graduate of Wheaton College (BA), Covenant Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM), and Wheaton College Graduate School (PhD). He is the author of several books such as Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers (2020), Deeper: Real Change for Real Sinners (2021) and Finally Home: The Christian Hope of Heaven (October 2026).
